Uniview - IPC & NVR - Timelapse Setting

For cameras equipped with an SD memory card and UNIVIEW recorders, there is a convenient feature that allows you to automatically capture pictures and configure the timing between each picture.

On the camera settings, you have the following options:

  1. Snapshot Interval: This parameter determines the time duration between each snapshot.
  2. Number to Snapshot: You can specify the number of snapshots the camera will capture during each triggering event.
  3. Snapshot Mode: There are two options available:
    • "Schedule" mode enables you to define specific times when the camera will automatically take snapshots.
    • "Repeat" mode allows you to set a time interval between each group of snapshots.

Here's an example to illustrate the functionality: Let's assume the following settings: Snapshot Interval = 10 seconds, Number to Snapshot = 2, and Repeat = 60 seconds. In this case, every 60 seconds, the camera will capture 2 snapshots with an interval of 10 seconds between each snapshot.

This function serves multiple purposes and offers various utilities. One such application is the ability to capture photos at regular intervals, allowing for the creation of a comprehensive visual record over an extended period. This feature becomes particularly valuable when documenting the progress of construction projects, such as a building under construction.

By setting the camera to take photos at fixed 15-minute intervals over a significant duration, you accumulate a collection of images that capture the evolving stages of the construction site. Subsequently, with the assistance of video editing software, you can compile these photos into a cohesive video clip. This video documentation can serve as a valuable resource for creating a video-documentary showcasing the entire construction process, highlighting milestones, and illustrating the transformation of the site over time.

Please note the following important information: The maximum resolution for image captures stored in the NVR (Network Video Recorder) is limited to 1080p. However, it is worth noting that if you choose to store the captures in the microSD card of an 8-megapixel camera, they can be preserved at the full 8-megapixel resolution. This provides an advantage as the higher resolution of the camera's microSD storage allows for more detailed and higher-quality images to be stored compared to the resolution limitation of the NVR.
