Requirements

This feature requires a Dahua NVR running UI 5.0 with the Vehicle Entrance and Exit function supported, and at least one connected camera that supports vehicle entrance and exit detection.

Configuration

Before using the module, you need to log in to the NVR and add your entrance and exit cameras.

    Log in to the device. Access the NVR interface using your administrator credentials.

    Add entrance and exit cameras. Go to Applications > Vehicle Entrance and Exit and click Add Entrance and Exit Camera. Select the channel and specify whether it is an entrance or exit type. Adding an entrance and exit camera in UI 5.0

Module Overview

Once configured, the Vehicle Entrance and Exit page is divided into seven functional areas. The sections below explain what each one does.

Module 1 — Live View

  • Live View Displays live footage from the configured entrance and exit channels. You can switch between different split-screen layouts to monitor multiple cameras simultaneously.

Module 2 — Real-Time Events

  • Events Panel Click the events icon to view real-time alarm information, including abnormal events, alarm status, and AI-triggered events as they occur.

Module 3 — Page Title

  • Title Bar Displays the name of the Vehicle Entrance and Exit page. This title can be customised to match your site or installation name.

Module 4 — Daily Totals

  • Entry / Exit Count Shows a running count of vehicle entry and exit records for the current day, updated in real time.

Module 5 — Settings, Search and Exit

This area contains three key controls accessed via buttons at the top of the page.

  • Settings Configure the vehicle blocklist and allowlist, and set up ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) functions.
  • Search Opens the search page. Filter by plate number, entry/exit type, licence plate type, barrier opening method, vehicle owner, channel, and time period, then click Search to retrieve results. Use Export to save the associated videos and images from the search results.

  • Exit Exits the Vehicle Entrance and Exit module and returns to the NVR main menu.

Module 6 — Vehicle Detail Page

  • Entry / Exit detail Displays detailed information for each vehicle event, including entry and exit status video. You can switch between entry and exit information and their associated video clips. If no video is available for a direction, the switch button is greyed out.
  • Playback Click Playback, or double-click any card in the channel record, to open the playback page for that event.

  • Add to blocklist From the playback page, click the blocklist button to add the vehicle's plate number to the blocklist directly.
  • Manual gate open The detail page also supports manually triggering the gate to open from within the interface.
Note

The switch button between entry and exit video will be greyed out if no video recording is available for that direction. Ensure cameras are recording and channels are correctly assigned as entrance or exit during setup.

Module 7 — Access Records

  • Records Log A running log of all vehicle access events, showing entry and exit records with timestamps, plate numbers, and barrier activity. Use the Search function in Module 5 to filter and export these records.

Tip

Use the allowlist to pre-register authorised vehicles so the barrier opens automatically on recognition. Use the blocklist to flag vehicles that should trigger an alert or be denied access. Both are configurable under Settings in Module 5.
