Dahua - AcuPick Mode - Feature Limitations
When AcuPick mode is enabled on your NVR, certain features are automatically disabled due to system resource constraints. This article explains each limitation and what your options are if you need those features.
Applies to AcuPick mode only
The limitations below do not apply when the device is set to AI Mode. If any of these features are critical to your setup, consider switching to AI Mode instead. See Configuring AcuPick Mode for guidance on changing modes.
How to Disable AcuPick Mode
To restore the features listed below, switch the recorder from AcuPick Mode to AI Mode.
1
Navigate to:
Main Menu → EVENT → AI Settings → Smart Plan → Recorder
Main Menu → EVENT → AI Settings → Smart Plan → Recorder
2
Under Mode, select AI Mode instead of AcuPick.
3
Click Apply. The device will restart automatically to apply the change.
Note
The mode set on the camera and the local device must match. Ensure the connected camera is also set to AI Mode to avoid configuration conflicts.
Affected Features
🖥️
4K Resolution on Auxiliary Screen
When AcuPick is enabled, the auxiliary (secondary) screen is limited to resolutions below 4K. The primary screen is unaffected.
Workaround: Switch the recorder to AI Mode to restore 4K output on the auxiliary screen. Note that this will disable AcuPick on connected devices.
🤖
AI by Recorder
The following AI by Recorder features are unavailable while AcuPick mode is active:
- Face Detection
- Face Recognition
- Perimeter Protection
- Smart Motion Detection (SMD)
These features rely on the recorder's onboard AI processing, which is reallocated to support AcuPick's human body and vehicle detection.
Workaround: Switch to AI Mode to re-enable all AI by Recorder features. AcuPick on connected devices will no longer be available in this mode.

Fisheye Dewarping
Fisheye dewarping — which corrects the wide-angle distortion produced by fisheye lenses — is not supported when AcuPick mode is enabled. Footage from fisheye cameras will still be recorded, but the dewarped view will be unavailable in live view and playback.
Workaround: Switch to AI Mode to restore fisheye dewarping support.
